The General Counsel reports to the Chancellor and advises the Board of Trustees of System Management Group and Boards of Trustees of all affiliated institutions about claims or significant legal issues that have impacted, or may impact the National University System or the affiliated institutions. The mission of the General Counsel is to provide, manage, and coordinate all legal services for the System, to minimize legal risks and costs, and always to do so efficiently, reliably, and professionally.
System Affiliate Chief Executives
The Chancellor convenes meetings on a regular basis with the chief executives of the System entities. They are also invited to attend meetings of the National University President's Cabinet. The System chief executives attend National University's annual planning retreat in August, where they participate in the planning sessions with National University administrators and faculty leadership.
